Who can apply to be an Intern?

We’re super inclusive – everyone is welcome here. We’re looking for hard-working people ready to dive in and change their future. This opportunity is for:

  • 16-30 year olds
  • Living in Dunfermline
  • Currently unemployed or a student

You must be able to commit to two half-day training sessions per week on weeks 1-8 (Tues and Thurs 9.30am-12.30pm) and commit to 14 hours per week of internship for weeks 9-12 (flexible days but typically 2x 7 hour days with breaks).

When will the internship be?

Dive In Tae Digital has two parts to it – the training and then the internship itself.

Training starts on 2nd July 2024 and runs for 8 consecutive weeks. The training will consist of 2x half day training sessions (6 hours/week) on Tuesdays and Thursdays 9.30am-12.30pm. Training will take place at The Community Hub in the Kingsgate Shopping Centre.

  • Training week 1: Tuesday 2nd & Thursday 4th July
  • Training week 2: Tuesday 9th & Thursday 11th July
  • Training week 3: Tuesday 16th July & Thursday 18th July
  • Training week 4: Tuesday 23rd & Thursday 25th July
  • Training week 5: Tuesday 30th & Thursday 1st Aug

  • Intern week 1: Monday 26th Aug
  • Intern week 2: Monday 2nd Sept
  • Intern week 3: Monday 9th Sept
  • Intern week 4: Monday 16th of Sept

Internships are 14 hours per week, to be arranged at a time suitable to both the business and intern e.g. 2 x 7-hour days.

What do I actually have to do?

During the internship, you must turn up on time for every session and work through your intern workbook. It’ll steer you on what to do each day in your internship. We’ll be on hand to answer questions throughout but you’ll have learned everything you need to do in our training session.

Dive In Tae Digital trainers will host one weekly check-in during your internship stage and will also be available for 1-2-1 sessions every week to make sure you’re confident and thriving in your internship. We’re here to support you!

Do I get paid?

Yes! This is something that’s so important to us. We’re sick of seeing internships/work placements advertised with no pay – it’s unfair & unrealistic for people. All of our interns are paid the Real Living Wage of £12 an hour throughout their internship. Your internship is 14 hours per week for four weeks. This equates to £168 per week (or £672 for the full internship). Interns must attend every session to ensure they receive payment.

What about my benefits?
If you’re currently receiving benefits and are worried about the impact a paid work placement may have, we encourage you to apply. We’re running a drop-in session at The Community Hub in the Kingsgate Shopping Centre where you can discuss your individual eligibility before our interview stage starts. Dates and times of this session will be announced shortly – in the meantime, get your application in.
What support will I get during the internship?

We’ll be with you every step of the way! We know this might be exciting and scary all at the same time which is why we’ll be on hand for anything you need. During the training, you’ll be able to ask any questions you might have as well as 1-2-1s with Colleen or Alana so you can pick their brains on anything you’re unsure of.

Throughout the internship weeks, you have access to weekly 1-2-1s with us to answer any of your questions or address any concerns. You’ll also have a weekly group check-in to make sure everyone is doing well.

How do I apply?

We’re delighted you’re interested in applying & can’t wait to hear from you. All you need to do is fill out this form before 10th June 10am:
